Are you looking for a challenging position helping children and adolescent with complex mental health challenges? Want to work within a multidisciplinary team including Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Psychologists, Educators and more? Then we have the position for you! We are currently hiring an RN/RPN to be shared between three of CASA’s tertiary level day treatment programs.


The RN/RPN will work collaboratively within each multi-disciplinary team for the preschool, children’s and adolescent day programs.  The RN/RPN will work with each team to provide nursing assessments, medication administration, as well as monitoring for effectiveness and side effects of new and existing medications.  The RN/RPN will also assist as needed within the classroom settings, providing therapeutic behaviour management, guidance and support.  In addition, the RN/RPN is responsible for facilitating health education groups within each day program on topics such as handwashing, nutrition, and puberty/human sexuality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Medication reconciliation

  • Medication administration and monitoring

  • Maintain required documentation

  • Health teaching with children/adolescents and families

  • Monthly vital signs

  • Milieu support

  • Health assessments/education/counselling/support for parents

  • Screening to identify health concerns

  • Making referrals to appropriate health care providers such as physicians, and community resources

  • Responsible for timely intervention and treatment planning

  • Establishing partnerships with external health practitioners and agencies

  • Be an active participant in committees throughout the organization.

  • Provide nursing support to the other CASA programs as determined by organizational needs



  • Must be registered and in good standing with their professional organization

  • Must possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to rapidly changing environments

  • Possess strong knowledge and skills in working with children with mental health disorders

  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills required



$35.17 - $44.57/hour, depending on experience.
