FamilySmart®: Parent in Residence Program

FamilySmart® offers the Parent in Residence Program for CASA’s families. Whether you are waiting for services, accessing services and/or have transitioned out of services at CASA, we are here for you and we want to help.

How can a Parent in Residence (PiR) help you and your family?

  • We are families whose kids struggle with mental health challenges. We know what it's like because we’ve been there too.

  • We offer peer support to families and caring adults who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health challenge.

  • We will listen to you, and we understand what you're going through, because we’ve been there.

  • We can connect your family to resources and information about services and supports that are available to you.

  • We can help you to prepare for meetings with the professionals who are providing services to your child, youth, or family.

  • We can meet with families by phone, video chat, or email.

  • There is no wait list and no charge for our service.

  • We are a complimentary service for CASA families, please know that leaning in to connect with us will not replace or affect any of the services you are currently accessing at CASA or in the community.

There are currently two Parents in Residence working at CASA: Lori Erickson and Krista Nystrom.
