We do this through a team of specialized mental health professionals who are trauma experts committed to delivering outcomes-based programming in collaboration with community partners. We are currently looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our family at CASA House. CASA House is an intensive residential treatment program that treats adolescents with complex mental health concerns using a multi-disciplinary team approach, with an emphasis on family involvement.

Job Description

Licensed Practical Nurses work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members to ensure success in the areas of clinical service delivery to adolescents with emotional and behavioural concerns and their families. They provide behaviour management, guidance, support, supervision and case management. In the floater position, you will see different shifts to accommodate different business needs, and may be working day or night shifts. 

  • The LPN provides nursing assessments and medical activities including:

    • Assessment of adolescents for physical needs, disease process and learning needs.

    • Providing and reinforcing teaching using available educational materials.

    • Identification and initiation of interventions within the LPN’s legislated scope of practice.

    • Monitoring of changes in health status using critical thinking skills.

  • Participates in case management of assigned adolescents and their families.

  • Supervises and organizes daily living activities, administers medication, maintains clinical records, and implements treatment plans.

  • Diploma in nursing.

  • Registration with CLPNA must be in good standing.

  • Previous experience working in children’s mental health.

  • Fluency in case management and supportive counselling for adolescents and their families.

  • Clinical effectiveness in building rapport with adolescents and their families.

  • Experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • A positive and energetic demeanor.

  • Have a flexible schedule to accommodate different shifts required in the LPN, floater position.
