CASA is a trusted non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally safe wrap-around mental health services to children and their families in Alberta. We do this through a team of specialized mental health professionals who are trauma experts committed to delivering outcomes-based programming in collaboration with community partners. CASA’s vision is a community where all children, youth and their families are provided timely mental health care and empowered to thrive.

CASA is currently looking for a human resources business partner to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be supporting multiple portfolios within our organization in a variety of capacities. The successful candidate will need to be adept at creating relationships and have a strong desire to learn the organization to provide the best advice to each business unit. In CASA’s five-year roadmap we have an ambitious goal of doubling the amount of patients we are able to treat and to be leaders in child-centred, family-inclusive mental health services. The Human Resources team is a critical function of being able to reach our goals.

With these initiatives and drive to expand our services, it will lead to many opportunities to grow within the organization. The HR team leads a variety of initiatives. For example, a compensation review and the implementation of a new HRIS. These will provide you with the opportunity to fine-tune your skills. Job Description

The human resources business partner (HRBP) is a key role within the HR team at CASA. The primary purpose is to build, foster and grow relationships between HR and the rest of CASA by delivering value-added services to employees and managers. As a catalyst for change, the HRBP will help facilitate organizational change by supporting employees and managers through times of ambiguity. This position will provide functional support and supervision to other HR team members in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration and performance reviews. The HRBP will maintain an understanding of current and emerging HR trends and best practices. This role will assist in making proactive recommendations to improve HR services at CASA. The HRBP will have a passion for people and creating work environments that celebrate diversity and demonstrate a commitment to learning. Duties will also include:

 

  • Works with employees, managers and senior leaders to create HR services and solutions that advance CASA’s mission.

  • Works with employees at all stages of the employee life cycle to address employee concerns and questions.

  • Provides advice and direction to management and employees on the application of HR policies, procedures and the Collective Agreement.

  • Advises CASA on the development, implementation and evaluation of HR programs and services, making suggestions for improvements founded in best practice.

  • Manages employee and labour relations issues under the direction of the manager, human resources which includes conducting effective, thorough and neutral investigations, and making recommendations for resolution.

  • In conjunction with the HR coordinator, develops and implements processes to ensure HRIS data is accurate and reliable.

  • Works with other areas of the people and culture portfolio and models a collaborative approach.

  • Works with areas such as occupational health and safety, volunteer services, student placement etc. to ensure a consistent approach across the portfolio.

Minimum Salary: $65,000

Maximum Salary: $85,000

Hours per Shift: 7.75

Shifts per Week: Five

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
 

Qualifications

  • A degree in human resources or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

  • Three to five years of HR generalist experience.

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including recruitment, performance management, organizational development and diagnosis, diversity and inclusion, and employee and labour relations.

  • CPHR designation considered an asset.
