Description

CASA is hiring an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead to promote diversity and inclusion in all parts of our organization. In this role, you will get to put your skills to work in a not-for-profit company working to advance the mental health of children, adolescents and their families.

 

Reporting to the Director, the Lead, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion will help to build a culture of inclusiveness and diversity within the organization, through the development of objectives, strategies, programs, policies and other initiatives.

 

This individual will work with the senior leadership team to ensure the EDI strategy is implemented consistently, effectively and efficiently across the organization, and provide leadership and support in the area of change management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Embeds EDI objectives in all organizational functions and operations. Researches, develops, recommends and executes creative strategies to foster the organization’s EDI goals.

  • Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder the organization’s EDI goals.

  • Collects and analyzes statistical data and uses this information to drive EDI initiatives.

  • Develops and implements tools to monitor, measure and report on the impact of all EDI initiatives.

  • Collaborates with the Human Resources department in the creation of recruitment, retention and development initiatives with a specific EDI focus.

  • Provides training and learning opportunities for the organization as it pertains to equity, diversity and inclusion.

  • Supports the integration of EDI principles in existing learning and development strategies and practices

  • Ensures that communication on EDI (internal and external) is consistent with the organization’s values, services, reputation and goals.

  • Establishes and maintains connections with community partners that have a vested interest in helping achieve EDI targets and initiatives.

  • Maintains knowledge of EDI-related issues, legislation, emerging trends and best practices.

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e. Human Resources, Sociology, Education, Business Administration, Law, etc.)

  • Certified or working towards the Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation.

  • Advanced knowledge of and proven experience in diversity, equity and inclusion, including knowledge of applicable Canadian legislation

  • Demonstrated awareness and commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Well-developed analytical skills and initiative to provide advice, solve problems and implement improvements.

  • Strong information technology skills including experience working in HR Software, Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Outstanding attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
