About CASA

CASA is a major non-profit community-based provider of mental health services for children, adolescents and their families within greater Edmonton and from Central and Northern Alberta. Since 1988 CASA has provided assessment and treatment services for up to 4,000 children and adolescents ages three to 18 each year through a continuum ranging from consultation in community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the manager, health information and privacy, the systems administrator – electronic medical records (EMR) role supports the success of CASA’s EMR vision of enhancing the quality of delivery of care through timely access to, and innovative use of, electronic medical records. This includes responsibility for administration of the EMR, technical support for staff and physicians and ongoing training.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating and managing user accounts and groups with detailed attention to appropriate access.

  • Perform functional and user acceptance testing.

  • Participate in the creation and inspection of quality assurance documents and help identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Field incoming requests for technical support over the phone, via email, and in-person.

  • Document resolutions, analyze trends and identify opportunities for further training or communications.

  • Work with the software provider to troubleshoot escalated issues as appropriate.

  • Schedule and deliver training sessions.

  • Maintain, create and update training materials including slides, quick reference guides and flow charts to support staff training in and use of the EMR.

  • Creation and maintenance of clinical forms and templates.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in applied information systems technology, information science, equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of one to two years of systems administration.

  • Experience with TELUS Med Access an asset.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment.

  • Able to successfully engage with diverse stakeholders and gain rapport with multi-disciplinary groups.

  • Possess keen attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to simplify and explain complex processes.

  • Self-starter with superb organization and time management skills.

  • Positive attitude and drive for continuous learning and improvement
