We do this through a team of specialized mental health professionals who are trauma experts committed to delivering outcomes-based programming in collaboration with community partners. CASA’s vision is a community where all children, youth and their families are provided timely mental health care and empowered to thrive.

We are looking for clinical support workers to join our triage and transition team. Reporting to the clinical manager, the individual works within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for triaging referrals to CASA programs and services. They will collaborate with external partners, ensuring timely and appropriate mental health service delivery. This includes participation in triage and intake assessment, case conferences, maintaining electronic medical records, providing ongoing support to clients and their families and transition planning and resourcing. Critical thinking and accurate interpretation of complex information are essential to the clinical decision-making required for this position.

Job Description

Reporting to the clinical manager, the clinical support worker (CSW) collaborates with all CASA programs and external partners to deliver an extension of mental health services and supports to children, adolescents and their families with mental health concerns. The CSW will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team involved in triage, intake, assessment, case management, psycho-educational/treatments groups, outreach services, resource navigation and transition services. Duties include:

  • Actively engages in the triage process to determine the appropriate mental health services for patients and their families in a timely manner

  • Utilize critical thinking and accurate interpretation of complex information to support clinical decision-making

  • Assist mental health therapists/physicians in screening and assessment interviews, in order to develop a treatment plan and clinical pathway for mental health services

  • Actively manage caseload to provide coordination of community-based services to patients and families that is customized to aid in their recovery.

  • Conduct follow up to explain strategies to assist the patients and their families in navigating mental health concerns including to assess severity of mental health concerns, risk of suicidalit, and urgency for appointment

  • Electronic medical record administration and documentation.

  • Child and Youth Care Diploma, Mental Health Therapist Diploma, BSW or BA with a major in psychology or related field

  • Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act must maintain active registration

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new or unexpected situations, flexibility in approach to interpersonal situations.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Practical experience in a children’s mental health

  • Strong knowledge and skills in behavior management techniques

  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritizing skills

  • An ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

  • Knowledge of community resources

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
