CASA House is an intensive residential treatment program that treats adolescents with complex mental health problems using a multidisciplinary team approach with an emphasis on family involvement.

Licensed Practical Nurses work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members to ensure success in the areas of clinical service delivery to to adolescents with significant mental health challenges and their families.  They provide behaviour management, guidance, support, supervision and case management to the adolescents in this program. 

Duties include:

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing assessments and medical activities including:

    • Assesses adolescents for physical needs, disease process, and learning needs.

    • Provides and reinforces teaching using available educational materials.

    • Identifies and initiates interventions within the Licensed Practical Nurse’s legislated scope of practice.

    • Monitors changes in health status using critical thinking skills.

  • Participates in case management of assigned adolescents and their families.

  • Implements and monitoring treatment plans.

  • Maintains and updating clinical records.

  • Complete chart audits

  • Medication administration

  • Supervises and organizing daily living activities.

  • Participates in program meetings.

  • Prepares transfer/discharge summaries for assigned caseload per program standards.




  • Registration with CLPNA must be in good standing. 

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.

  • Two years experience working within the health care community. 

  • Experience in mental health is an asset.

  • An ability to engage adolescents and families.

  • Strong knowledge of psychotropic medication.



$24.23 - $30.51 depending on education and experience
