Reporting to the Manager Rural, Consultation and Education Services and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary teams, the Clinical Lead provides leadership to the Psychological Assessment and Consultation program in the achievement of clinical service outcomes.

The Clinical Lead works collaboratively with CASA colleagues and community professionals to achieve success in the following areas:

  • Provides clinical leadership based on evidence-informed practice to the PAC program

  • Works collaboratively with the education team to develop and enhance PAC clinical skills and to facilitate clinical education and skills training to staff related to PAC’s program areas of expertise

  • Ensures adherence to standards of care including accreditation standards, clinical policies and procedures

  • Works with the Program Manager to facilitate the development of a high functioning PAC program in line with the directives from the College of Alberta Psychologists, Canadian Psychological Association, Psychological Association of Alberta, and the National Association of School Psychologists

  • Facilitates collaborative relationships and transitions across programs.

  • Collaborates with the Manager during the performance appraisal process of program members by providing clinical performance feedback.

  • Delivers assessment and consultation services to a patient caseload, as appropriate.

  • Is an active, contributing member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team

  • Follows CASA clinical policy and procedures

  • Identifies quality improvement opportunities and contributes to planning and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Contributes to the development and leads the implementation of evidence-based program practice standards, policies and procedures and changes in practice.

  • Participates in the development of organizational and discipline-specific, Assessment and School Psychologist, practice standards

  • Provides comprehensive feedback into performance appraisals and monitors caseloads and gaps as recognized

  • Promote a trauma-informed, family-centred and culturally aware environment for patients and staff



  • Master’s degree in School or Educational Psychology

  • Current registration as a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists

  • Declared area of competency in the practice of General and Formal Assessment

  • Experience with psychoeducational and clinical assessment of children and adolescents

  • Possess skills and knowledge in the area of child and adolescent development, principles of learning and behaviour and individual differences, social/emotional/behavioural and academic interventions, assessment and program planning

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience in child and adolescent mental health assessment and consultation

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including clinical practice, research and education.

  • Ability to direct self and prioritize.

  • Demonstrates administrative skills including collaboration skills, an ability to delegate and build consensus.

  • Planning and time management skills.

  • Commitment to quality improvement processes.

  • Ability to work across programs/services within a regional infrastructure.

  • Patient focus and approach.

  • Access to a reliable vehicle, as travel is required



$89,416-$113,270 depending on experience.
