Referral & Orientation
How To Refer
Physicians and mental health practitioners are invited to refer children to the program. The referring clinician should discuss the possibility of attending the program with the child and family and provide them with information about the program’s expectations. The child’s guardian must support the referral. See Admission to CASA.
When the team receives a referral, an administrative assistant will contact the child’s guardian to invite them to an orientation. Following the orientation the family will advise the team of their decision regarding admission into the program. The referring party will be advised by a team member of the outcome of the orientation. The treating therapist, teachers and other key service providers will be invited to attend a transfer conference as part of the admission process as needed.
