When Child and Adolescent Services Association (CASA) was founded in 1989 the Board of Directors determined that ongoing research and program evaluation was an essential part of the organization and agreed to support an active Research Department within the organization. Today, the Research Team at CASA plays an important role in informing individuals and groups about research that not only improves our understanding of children’s mental health, but also of appropriate prevention and treatment strategies for children’s mental health issues. This is important, given the increasing rate of mental illness in children worldwide.
